Overview
The City of Pittsburgh Department of Public Works, working with the beneficial input of community partners desired to implement Phase I of the Sheraden Park Master Plan. The park is located in the West End of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and serves the neighborhoods of Sheraden, Esplen, Elliot, Chartiers City, Windgap, and Crafton Heights. Sheraden Park is defined largely by its unique topography. Steep slopes exist around the perimeters of the park and place most of the existing park amenities in the flat lowland areas, creating a disparity in public space use and access.
Design services include the following components: lighting and safety improvements, park building improvements, park shelter improvements, community garden development, ADA accessible parking, slope stabilization, playground improvements, design of new basketball courts, tennis courts, and sand volleyball courts, park signage, trail improvements, and stormwater improvements.
